Call Forwarding Guide for RingOffice Cloud Phone System Extensions

Introduction:

This manual provides a detailed guide for configuring and managing Call Forwarding features for Cloud Phone System extensions in RingOffice. It includes steps for setting up forwarding rules via the Customer Portal and using Feature Codes (*72/*73). Follow the steps carefully to ensure proper functionality.



Managing Call Forwarding via Customer Portal


Step 1: Log in to RingOffice Customer Portal


Step 2: Navigate to Call Forwarding Settings

  1. Go to the IP Centrex tab.
  2. Click on Phone Lines.
  3. Beside your extension, click the Configure (wrench) icon.
  4. In the new window, go to the IP Centrex tab.
  5. Click on Forwarding from the left menu.


Step 3: Configure Forwarding Rules

  • Forwarding Strategy: Choose a strategy (e.g., Simultaneous, Sequential).
  • Create Rules:
    • Enter the forwarded number in full 11-digit format for North America (e.g., 14165551234).
    • Do not use formats like 4165551234, +14165551234, 416-555-1234, or 0014165551234.


Step 4: Set Advanced Options

  • Ring Time: Specify how long the call should ring before forwarding.
  • Time of Day Conditions: Set rules based on specific time windows (e.g., forward calls only during business hours).


Step 5: Save and Test

  • Click Save to apply the changes.
  • Test the forwarding rules by calling the extension.


Enabling/Disabling Unconditional Forwarding with Feature Codes


*Enabling Forwarding with 72

  1. Dial *72 from your phone.
  2. When prompted, enter the forwarding destination number in full 11-digit format (e.g., 14165551234).
  3. This creates and enables a Follow-Me rule in your account.


*Disabling Forwarding with 73

  1. Dial *73 from your phone.
  2. You will hear a confirmation that forwarding has been disabled.


Important Notes

  • Default Answering Mode: Call forwarding rules only take effect when the Default Answering Mode is set to an option that includes Forward.
  • Number Format: Always use the full 11-digit format for North American numbers (e.g., 14165551234).
  • Test the Configuration: After setting up, test the forwarding rules to ensure calls are routed as expected.
